OVERVIEW AUTOMOTIVE TEST GENERATORS
AutoWave Generates and records automotive waveforms
Battery simulation becomes more and more an issue in today´s automotive testing. Waveforms are getting more and more complex. Standardised single phenomena like cranking are still tested but real-life signals are of even higher interest for testing full vehicles or parts of it under real conditions. Common arbitrary generators often fail in testing these requirements especially if iteration of various test parameters within one test are required.
The AutoWave unifies a 4-channel arbitrary generator and a 2-channel transient wave recorder in a small and handy unit. The AutoWave is best of generating and recording any kind of waveform in the automotive area.

LD 200N Load Dump Generator
Load Dump pulses simulate the sudden disconnection (e.g. by corrosion) of the battery from the alternator while the alternator is generating current to load the battery. Such Load Dump pulses are high energy pulses with a high potential of destruction. The LD 200N simulates these high energy pulses having a duration time in the range of hundreds of milliseconds.
The LD 200N generates the Load Dump pulses as per ISO 7637, SAE J1113, SAE J1455, JASO and many more manufacturer specification, e.g. Ford, Chrysler, Renault, PSA, NISSAN etc. By means of a built-in clipping circuit (optional) the LD 200N also generates clipped load dump pulses as per international standards as well as manufacturer requirements.

LD 200S18 Load Dump Generator
Load Dump pulses simulate the sudden disconnection (e.g. by corrosion) of the battery from the alternator while the alternator is generating current to load the battery. Such Load Dump pulses are high energy pulses with a high potential of destruction.
The LD 200S18 generates the Field Decay pulse and the Spark Test pulse as per Toyota specification.

LD 200S19 Load Dump Generator
Load Dump pulses simulate the sudden disconnection (e.g. by corrosion) of the battery from the alternator while the alternator is generating current to load the battery. Such Load Dump pulses are high energy pulses with a high potential of destruction.
The LD 200S19 generates the Load Dump pulses Test 1, Test 2 (Giant Pulse) and Test 3 as per Toyota specification.

MPG 200S20 Micropulse Generator
Micropulses occur on the battery supply system when an inductive load is disconnected from the DC supply. These pulses are of a medium energy content having a rise time in the low microsecond range and a duration of several tenth or hundreds/thousands of microseconds. Their polarity depends on whether the inductive load is of a passive (e.g. a heater) or an active type (e.g. a DC motor).
The MPG 200S20 has a built-in battery switch to interrupt the DC supply voltage as required by the standards. It is designed to generate pulses 1b and 6 as per GOST standard 28751-90 as well as pulse 6 as per ISO 7637-1:1990.

MPG 200S5 Micropulse Generator
Micropulses occur on the battery supply system when an inductive load is disconnected from the DC supply. These pulses are of a medium energy content having a rise time in the low microsecond range and a duration of several tenth or hundreds/thousands of microseconds. Their polarity depends on whether the inductive load is of a passive (e.g. a heater) or an active type (e.g. a DC motor).
The MPG 200S5 has a built-in battery switch to interrupt the DC supply voltage as required by the standards and is specifically designed to generate pulses up to 1,100V.

PFS 200N Automotive Power Fail Simulator
The PFS 200N Automotive Power Fail simulator is used to comply with standard requirements, mainly from vehicle manufacturers, to perform fast voltage dips and drops (micro-interruptions). Some standards specify very fast rise and fall times below 1 microsecond requiring an electronic switch.

UCS 200N Ultra Compact Simulator for Automotive Transients
The UCS 200N Ultra-Compact Simulator for Automotive Transients unifies the capabilites of an EFT/Burst simualtor, a Micropulse simulator and the required coupling network into one box. The UCS 200N is equiped to meet all international and car manufacturer specifications from around the globe. The built-in coupling network ranges up to 200A depending on the model. The built-in coupling network can be used and controlled by any unit of the LD 200N series, VDS 200N series and PFS 200N series.
For tests beyond standard's requirements the waveform parameters of the Micropulse generator can be varied in a wide range by means of the FreeStyle mode.

VDS 200N Voltage Drop Simulator
The VDS 200N series is used to simulate the various battery supply waveforms recommended by international standards and by car manufacturer requirements. Especially the manufacturer requirements are an important area covered by the VDS 200N series as there is a large variety of requirements. Secondly, the VDS 200N series serve as powerful DC voltage supplies for the DUT during the tests with automotive transients. The VDS 200N series covers all three supply voltage categories. Their current capability ranges up to 200A depending on the model and your application.
