UCS 500N5V - The stand-alone Combination Wave (Surge) Generator
The UCS 500N5V is a new dedicated Surge generator based on the successful UCS 500N series of ultra-compact simulators. Offering all the benefits of the well-known UCS 500N5 it is designed as a Surge generator only. This makes it the full performing Surge tester as per IEC/EN 61000-4-5 with the best benefit-to-cost ratio yet upgradeable to include other test abilities such as EFT/Burst and PowerFail.
Apart from its built-in single phase test capability it is extendable for testing three-phase DUTs by means of automatically controlled external coupling networks up to 100A. EM TEST supplies a large range of accessories for various applications.

UCS 500N5V - The "best-of-its-class" Surge generator
The UCS 500N5V offers an extended test voltage/current range up to 5kV/2.5kA for testing far beyond the basic requirements. This makes it THE tool for development testing as well as fully-compliant standard tests as per IEC/EN 61000-4-5.
Surge testing being a distructive test DUTs may need to be protected against total distruction during test. The EM TEST "em.safe" helps as current limiters can be programmed to limit the surge current in case of DUT failures.
With its built-in single phase CDN up to 300V/16A AC/DC the UCS 500N5V copes with all common mains supply voltages. Three-phase CDNs extend its applicability for three-phase testing of DUTs with a nominal current of 100A and more.
The UCS 500N5V can be operated manually from the front panel offering pre-programmed standard test routines. Yet it also offers the Quick Start test where parameters can be changed on-line during the test to evaluate the susceptibility level of an individual DUT and the ability of programming user defined test routines.
USB and GPIB interfaces are provided for remote control via iec.control software. Fail inputs allow to control an ongoing test sequence based on the status of the DUT. Monitoring outputs (BNC) are offered for easy surge pulse measurement and verification. Safety features such as interlock and warning lamp control are available.

iec.control Software for control and documentation
Outstanding user convenience, clearly structured windows and operation features and the EM TEST standards library along with the flexibility to generate user specific test sequences very easily are the main features of iec.control software. The software is automatically configured according to the connected EM TEST generators. Extensive reporting capabilities help the user to create test reports that meet international requirements.
iec.control is supported by Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Remote control is achieved either via USB or GPIB. iec.control supports a wide range of GPIB cards of National Instruments.
